Hitting Development Program

At our hitting programs, we emphasize long-term player development. When kids are first introduced to baseball, most of them are infatuated with hitting a ball as far as they can. However, many of them are ill-prepared, from a mechanical standpoint, when they are put into the batter's box during a game and end up only using their arms to swing or lunge forward towards the ball. In our hitting development program, players will learn how to become elite hitters through hitting mechanics optimization, which includes learning how to keep their weight back as they stride forward and maximizing their hip rotation explosiveness. This is done with a simplified approach, since these are kids, after all. Because every kid is different and learns at his own pace, every hitting practice will be tailored towards each player's individual needs.

Due to high demand and limited time, we will only be accepting 4 kids per group for our 20-week hitting development program. Since a long-term commitment is involved, cost per practice will be lower than the traditional fundamentals clinics we have run in the past. For more information, please see below!

Hitting Development Program Information:

The hitting development program is for youth players looking to prioritize their long-term development. In order to become a better hitter, players must adopt a consistent hitting program to keep their body in shape and prepare them for the spring season.

The training regimen that comes with this program includes:

1. A full hitting mechanics analysis to identify inefficiencies and used to create a personalized program

2. Dynamic warmups and stretches to prepare the body to hit, and open up players' hips and t-spine mobility

3. Mechanical drills and hitting progressions to optimize mechanics

4. Medicine ball drills to help develop explosiveness

This program is not a "gain exit velocity fast" gimmick. Hitting is a complex, multi-faceted movement that involves full mind and body awareness. Over the course of this program, there will be an emphasis on players' understanding and internalizing what mechanical inefficiencies and tendencies they have, and how they can self-correct. Coaches can't hold their players' hands forever, so making sure the boys leave each practice with an understanding of what they worked on that day and how to apply it in the future is of utmost importance.
