Our Story

In the summer of 2020, Learn to Pitch was founded by James Paton. During the heart of the COVID-19 pandemic, when most summer leagues and baseball facilities were cancelled or closed, James started to think of ways in which he could improve his own pitching mechanics. After analyzing his delivery and researching various pitching concepts, James decided to share what he was learning about himself as a pitcher with the rest of the world. His social media posts quickly gained traction because of how effectively simple James was able to explain difficult pitching mechanics topics, while also paying close attention to detail. Many struggling pitchers began to contact James for remote pitching delivery analyses and lessons, and James quickly understood that he could help these people by spreading his pitching knowledge. What started out as a journey into self-discovery, turned into a way for James to selflessly give back to the baseball community.
